Blepharoplasty
If the eyelids begin sagging into the field of vision, a functional blepharoplasty may be required. The procedure may be covered by medical insurance if it is deemed medically necessary.
Ptosis (Droopy Eyelid)
Ptosis is a condition in which the eyelid droops due to a weakness or separation of muscles deep within the eyelid. This can cause both aesthetic and functional issues, but a brief surgical procedure can eliminate the drooping.
Skin Lesions / Cysts Removal
Skin tags and cysts are often seen around the thin skin of the eye. These can be removed through quick office procedures and are often paid for by insurance.
Entropion / Ectropion
Entropion and ectropion are conditions that affect your eyelid. With entropion, your eyelid turns in and causes your eyelashes to rub against the cornea. This can be serious as your eye can get infected and cause loss of vision. Oftentimes, a simple suture procedure in the office can correct this issue With ectropion, your eyelid turns out and does not touch your eye. Your eye may become more dry due to a poor tear film and exposure. Also, your tears may run down your face because of the malposition of the eyelid. An in-office procedure can often correct this issue.
Dry Eye
Dry eyes are a result of insufficient tear production or tears that are of poor quality. This can lead to your eyes feeling tired, burning, itchy, gritty, light sensitive, blurry, red, build-up of mucus, trouble wearing contact lenses, and the feeling of something in your eye. Different treatment options exist that can help you with this condition. This can vary from over-the-counter drops to prescription medication to surgical treatments with in-office eyelid plugs. Evaluating your eyes is the best way to determine what will work best for you.
Tearing Eyes
There are many reasons for the eye to tear. A common problem is with the tear drain of your eye which is located in the eyelid. If the tear drain is blocked or reduced in size, the tears have no place to go but down your cheek. An in-office procedure can help evaluate and possibly treat this condition.
